We expand access to education for the most marginalised children, including refugees and displaced people, across all partner countries.

Children from the poorest households, from rural areas, and from countries affected by fragility and conflict are more likely to be left behind, as are girls in many countries. Despite dramatic improvements over the past decades, progress towards achieving education for all has stagnated, and close to 260 million children, adolescents and youth are still out of school.

More than 80% of them live in the countries and territories eligible for Young Invest support. Even where children go to school, they often do not complete it. In GPE partner countries, one in four children does not complete primary school and half do not complete lower secondary school.

Work in progress.

We have much work to do to achieve true inclusion. To be engaged, you must feel Included and Valued.

We strive to build and nurture a culture where Inclusiveness is a reflex, not an initiative. Where there is a deep sense of pride, passion and belonging that transcends any role, language or country and is unified in our shared commitment to Excellence, Innovation, and Social Responsibility.

Access is a priority area. We promote the mainstreaming of equity and inclusion in all education policies and plans to ensure that all children enjoy their basic human rights without discrimination.

In Action.

Research and data: We support research and projects on out-of-school children, which supports countries to identify which children are out of school, the barriers to access, and policies and programs that can remove these barriers.

Advocacy: Young Invest advocates for a quality education for every child. We prioritise gender equality and access for marginalised groups including those living in poverty, ethnic and linguistic minorities, along with refugees and internally displaced persons.

Building schools: Building, restoring, and maintaining education facilities is critical to ensure more children have access to school.

Planning and financing: We weigh our funding towards countries that have low completion rates and those affected by fragility and conflict, which have higher numbers of out-of-school children.
